Byron Donalds on France riots and Florida
by HOMERED: Byron Donalds
Byron Donalds says a France-style riot won't happen in Florida, and he's pointing at Paris to explain why. In his telling, leadership there lets unrest grow until people get hurt, bystanders get caught in it and businesses take real damage. Florida, he says, would never tolerate that. The law backs up part of the claim: if a driver is fleeing a violent riot out of a reasonable fear for their life and unintentionally hurts or kills someone, the state's anti-riot statute offers a legal defense or immunity from civil suits. Donalds also says that's a big reason people from across the US and elsewhere keep choosing Florida, and he insists it stays a safe state. He made the remarks in a Fox News segment with Jon Scott, and Governor DeSantis came up in the conversation about the race. FAFO ☀️
