HVAC job market vs AI office roles

    by Gigliola: New York

Young folks are scrambling for office gigs that AI is ready to automate, while HVAC techs are landing jobs the same day they start looking. The trades sector is starving for workers because not enough people went in, and you needed foresight or parents who knew better back then. One refrigeration repair guy from New York pulls in serious cash doing exactly that. It's a longer runway before automation hits since customers won't trust robots walking into their homes, especially when serving older clients. #NewYork

I think the trades are different. I had a HVAC friend do the rounds and landed a job the same day. Very different than office-based jobs or state or federal jobs. Yeah, I think that's the issue with a lot of younger people, though, is they're trying to get these white-collar jobs that are the most prone to AI taking them. Yeah. Yeah, no, trust. The people who took that route, I mean, you had to have a little bit of foresight or just had a parent or something that knew. But that trades were going to be more invaluable or that they are like super high in demand. And I guess kind of always to a degree. More so now because there's less people to fill the jobs. Yeah. Right. Like now you're getting paid extra. So I know one guy out of New York who did that. I mean, he makes crazy good money. He's like a refrigeration repair guy. Nice. Stupid bread. Yeah. And that'll have a longer runway before it gets automated away for sure. Totally. Because not only could theoretically a bot do it, like would the customer be okay with that? right especially if you're servicing like older people too which oftentimes is the case like are they gonna be cool with a robot walking through their house probably not for a long time if you enjoyed this be sure to hit that like button and follow to stay up to date with what's going on in the world and everything else memes and markets peace
