Based16z Escalade story

    by Tufail: New York

The logic behind owning a Cadillac Escalade that has never been driven starts with a moment where Based16z was feeling a little buzzed and decided having a driver full-time was dope. His friend mentioned owning two Escalades with drivers and offered one right then, so Based16z said less and wired the money the next day to buy it. Once the purchase was made, the reality of paperwork hit hard because Based16z admitted he is not very organized and recently got assistance with organization just to handle daily tasks. Dealing with titles felt like too much work, so the vehicle ended up sitting in a New York parking garage for about two months while the battery froze inside during storage. A friend eventually called to say it had to be retrieved, which resulted in a $2,500 bill just to get the vehicle out of the garage. After paying the fee, Based16z drove the car back to ZQ and immediately told his friend to deal with everything because he didn't want to think about it anymore. To this day, the vehicle remains owned by Based16z even though he has never used it since the initial transaction. It is depreciating every year while sitting somewhere, but technically he does own a car. #NewYork

I was like a little buzzed and my friend, I was like, dude, having a driver full time is so dope. Like I should do that. And my friend has like two Escalades that he owns with a driver. And he's like, dude, you can buy this one for me right now. And I was like, say less. Like I'll buy this Escalade from you tonight. So I like do that. I wire him the next day. And I'm not a very organized person. I actually recently was able to just get assisted to help with that. But I was like, okay, great. I have this Escalade now. Now what? He's like, well, you got to do the title and pick it up. And I was like, oh, that sounds like a lot of work, dude. Like, I don't know about all this. So I ended up leaving it. And he's like, okay, I'm going to drop it off for you in this parking garage. It stays in this New York parking garage for like two months. The battery freezes. At which point he's like, dude, you got to go get it. Like, I'm getting calls. It's like a $25,000, not $25,000, $25,000 bill to take it out of the garage. I take it out of the garage, drive it back to ZQ. I'm like, dude, you deal with this. I don't want to, I don't even want to think about this anymore. And so now to this day, he still has it somewhere, I guess. I still paid him for it. And I've never used it. And I guess it's depreciating every year. But I do own a car.
