Ashley Moody responds to Angie Nixon

    by HOMERED: Angie Nixon

Angie Nixon told CNN she would want Ashley Moody imprisoned. When pressed on the DSA's prison abolition stance, her explanation was specific: she wants Moody in one of them. The Florida senator calls this absurd but sadly predictable from a self-proclaimed socialist who signed up with that label. She argues Nixon wants government takeover of private industry, defunding police, kneecapping the military, and letting non-citizens vote. According to Moody, these policies aim to turn Florida and the nation into Cuba. She lists Bernie Sanders, Chris Murphy, AOC, and Rashida Tlaib as figures backing that direction. With her background as a federal prosecutor, judge, and attorney general, she says she defended the constitution against attacks on law enforcement. Her message is clear: Florida will be the firewall for freedom. She pledges to stand strong and notes the election is November 3rd.

Sadly predictable. This is someone who is a self-proclaimed socialist. She actually signed up to be a Democrat socialist and wants to have government take over private industry, abolish prisons, defund the police, kneecap our military, let non-citizens vote. I can go on and on. And I have, in the course of my career as a federal prosecutor, a judge, attorney general, defended the very constitution that protects our rights and stood up with law enforcement for public safety during a time in our country when folks were attacking law enforcement, defunding them, demoralizing them. At the end of the day, she wants to turn Florida and certainly this nation into Cuba. And that is why you see the people she's having to bring down, like Bernie Sanders from Vermont and Chris Murphy from Connecticut and AOC from New York and Rashida Tlaib. These are all people that want that insanity for this nation. And I, for one, am going to stand strong against that. Florida will always be the firewall for freedom. I am proud of that. I was proud to fight for that as attorney general. And we're going to show the rest of this nation how strong Florida will stand up for itself on November 3rd.
