Roman Reigns on nepotism and WWE access

    by Sandeepx 💯: Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns breaks down why nepotism is just the key to the door in WWE, not the guarantee of staying inside. Once you're in the room, the question becomes whether you blend into the corner or take it over entirely. He admits his family has an edge because they know about Fight Club, a dynamic that was completely hidden 20 to 40 years ago when there was real mystique and even physical violence stopping people from getting in. Back then nobody knew the secrets of the business, but nowadays all you need to do is follow WWE on Instagram to get a tryout tomorrow. It's a totally different landscape now compared to the days of Noah, Yokozuna, and Rikishi where access wasn't this instant.

You mentioned the family. Your dad's wrestled, your dad and Rock's dad wrestled, your grandfather's were very, very close, and you're part of the Noah family dynasty, Yokozuna, Rikishi. But you know you're going to get this. Man, that's nepotism because he had it easy. I mean, look at his wrestling family. They've been wrestling for 40, 50 years. So how difficult was it for him to actually get into WWE and become this megastar? well it's not it's not that hard to be i i mean it's like anything nepotism is funny it's a funny case because the door opens for you yes but what are you going to do when you get in the room correct how are you you're going to just be one of those guys in the corner and blending in are you going to take over the room so yeah i mean we do have the advantage but nowadays and this i mean if you told me 20 years ago to 40 years ago we definitely had the advantage because we know about Fight Club. Nobody knew about Fight Club back then. There was a mystique around the business. Not everybody, if you tried to get in, they beat you up for real. That way you'd be like, no, I don't want to do this because they don't want everybody in the business. They don't want to share our secrets. Now all you got to do is go on Instagram. You know what I mean? Follow WWW. You can get a tryout tomorrow. So it's just a little bit different nowadays.
