Joe Brady on James Cook fumbles
by Yutaofficial: Buffalo Bills
Joe Brady didn't hold back on the turnovers. Two of Buffalo's best players put the ball on the ground against the Rams, and James Cook was responsible for both of his fumbles in that game. Brady says the ball is being put in harm's way, and that negates all the positive. He still has full confidence in Cook, which is why he put him right back out there. But at some point there have to be consequences. Cook has four fumbles this season and eleven since the start of 2025. Brady says the conversations about ball security are ongoing, and that this is going to cost games, and nearly did. Winning doesn't make it okay, and if it doesn't improve, the carries are going to decrease. Via BuffaloBills.

for a bit yeah no i mean right now we're putting the ball in harm's way and we know the the way that we lose football games we turn the ball over right and um you know our two best players turned the ball over last night and and you know james has put the ball on the ground and um you know it's it's uh look he's doing so many good things running the football right and and i don't want to lose sight of how how great he's running the ball right now but we're putting the ball on the ground and it's it's uh negating all the all the positive and i have all the confidence in them that's why i put them right back out there um you know but uh they're obviously at some point there has to be consequences to to when we're putting negative stuff out there and um you know so it's uh you know conversations that we're having ongoing james knows it's important to him but um yeah that can't happen and it's cost it's going to cost us football games and almost cost that has won, but we can't confuse the quality of – we can't confuse because we won the game that that's okay. And so it's got to improve or the carries are going to decrease.
