John Carlo SB on selling Pokemon cards
A question worth sitting with: if people will happily sink real money into cardboard as an investment, why wouldn't NFTs end up on the same road? Nostalgia is the reason collectors give for the pull. But plenty of the newer buyers skipped the show and the games entirely. The cards became an asset class. Buying them beats buying stocks, in my book. That's what made the comment from John Carlo SB land, honestly. Selling when things are already in. #Pokemon #Collectibles

This was an interesting comment. Giancarlo Espy said, selling when things are already in decline and about 30% loss only on paper is a complete amateur move and will effectively guarantee your loss. Not the best opinion. Okay, so let's talk to me in a year, pal. Talk to me in a year. Are things down 30% already? Yeah, bro. I literally called the top like the day we streamed pretty much, man. That's crazy. That one like four months ago, five months ago. Dude, this has brought more people into the world of investing and collecting than like maybe anything, man. because it is the IP that's so strong, right? So it's also why I think NFTs are legitimately inevitable where the price will get pumped is because so many people have been convinced to buy a piece of cardboard that didn't watch the show as kids and didn't play the games. Right. So if you're going to tell me that it's that, right? It's nostalgia. It's I love the IP, all that shit. That's just not true. That's just not true. They are there because it's been created to be an asset class and it's more fun than buying a stock. And there's enough people who have made enough money for enough time for where it's now an asset class. That's all that it takes. If you're still into NFTs, you should definitely follow us because we talk about JPEGs more than we probably should.
