Brandon Herrera debate moment

    by Silvestre: Brandon Herrera

The debate between Brandon Herrera and Katy Padilla Stout took a sharp turn when Herrera launched into an accusation about someone raking in millions from online jokes targeting Nazis and veteran suicides. He initially admitted he once believed mocking Nazis was actually a good thing, only to backtrack moments later with a correction that shifted the entire tone of the exchange. Herrera apologized for the misspeak but immediately pivoted to claiming this individual goose steps on YouTube purely for clicks, bait, and money to promote Nazi ideology. The argument didn't stop there as Herrera further alleged the person actively shames women while making sexually explicit comments about children. What started as a humorous slip-up quickly evolved into a serious indictment of how that content is produced and distributed across the platform.

Brandon Herrera now wants to call suicide, veteran suicide, an epidemic. Well, yes, that's after he made millions of dollars after making jokes online, making fun of Nazis, and making fun of veteran suicide, making fun of all of these things that we know he does not need to be doing. You have a minute for a rebuttal? And here I thought making fun of Nazis was a good thing. Out in West Texas, I mean, for example, my grandfather was a Silver Star recipient from the Korean War. He's a great man. I watched him wither in the VA system before he died. I was actually one of his last caretakers before he passed away. And I got to see firsthand how we're failing the veterans of this country. I come from a proud family with a proud history of military service, and that's something that I take incredibly seriously. Me and my business partners, we've raised over a million dollars for veteran charities, and that was before running for office That because that something we deeply deeply care about And it frustrates me to see the lack of care that we giving people who signed on the dotted line to protect this country knowing that when it was our turn, the government's turn to protect them, that we were going to stand up and do that, that we were going to take care of them from all the injuries they may have sustained in combat and throughout their careers. And we have done a terrible job in doing so. I want to see that that's fixed. Katie, one minute. Thank you. I apologize. I did misspeak. He chooses to goose up on YouTube for clicks and bait and money so that he can promote that type of ideology. He chooses to shame women, call children sexually explicit comments, and he wants to represent us in office. If you truly believe that he cares about veterans, he would not be making money off of joking about veteran suicide. He would not even think or talk about veteran suicide when we lose up to 17 veterans every single day to that epidemic.
