Ilhan Omar raid judge details

Magistrate Judge Matthew Sharbaugh was on criminal duty in D.C. federal court the week of the search for Ilhan Omar's residence, and Chief Judge James Boasberg administered the oath to him. Reports indicate the judge was a Democratic appointee, and may have actually been a Democratic donor. Legal expert Jonathan Turley stated this is NOT the type of figure out of some kind of MAGA conspiracy. This is the kind of judge who would ONLY sign off if the evidence is overwhelming. So much for the "MAGA witch hunt" when the investigation determines the seriousness of any misrepresentation or conspiracy knowledge.

Judge saw enough to conclude that there was probable cause, was there not, that a federal issue is raised, criminal issue is raised, and that there could be evidence of a crime in that residence. That's right. And there are reports today that that judge was a Democratic appointee and may actually have been a Democratic donor. This is not the type of figure right out of some MAGA conspiracy. There's a judge who looked at this and said, yeah, you've got probable cause to go forward. And as you say, Laura, you know, we have to see how serious is the misrepresentation. Was there knowledge to support a conspiracy? All of that's going to be coming out, presumably through this investigation. And I think we have to just allow that to unfold.
