Ilhan Omar DC home search
by Flint: Ilhan Omar
Somali Rep. Ilhan Omar's congressional staff allegedly swapped her recorded birth year from 1981 to 1982 after the election according to the New York Post, casting immediate doubt on how she acquired citizenship. She claims naturalization via her father in 2000 before turning 18, yet a 1981 birth date makes that parental route impossible under age limits. Federal agents searched her Washington D.C. residence as part of a criminal probe while Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized warrant secured by the Justice Department. The operation began around 6 o'clock on Columbus Day with agents leaving boxes from the property in a quiet scene devoid of weapons or violent raid tactics. No comments emerged from Congresswoman Omar or her office despite Fox News reporting this through David Spunt who noted it is unusual for the department to take overt action three weeks before an election. The post asserts justice is being served and demands the deportation of Ilhan Omar based on these alleged discrepancies.

HSI agents giving this some sort of immigration relation as far as this case is involved, though we are told this is a criminal investigation. We don't know the specifics, but a Justice Department spokesperson did tell us this on the record, quote, today in the Washington, D.C. area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice. This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation, end quote. No comment at this point from Congresswoman Omar. We've reached out to her office. No statements on social media. Again, this began a little bit after 6 o'clock this morning here, John. We've seen agents leave with boxes. It does not appear to be any sort of intense raid. I mean, I know we use the word raid, but no one knocking down doors, no one running in with flashlights or any type of weapons. It's been fairly quiet here on this block on Columbus Day. A couple neighbors mulling around asking what's going on. But clearly we now know that Congresswoman Omar, and I will note it's unusual to see the Justice Department take an overt action three weeks before an election.
