FRN coalition signed in DRC
A new coalition has been signed into existence in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Kabila, Nangaa, Bisimwa, Makenge, and Kaniki put their names to the Front for the Refoundation of the Nation, known as the FRN, a politico-military platform. Their stated mission: push Félix Tshisekedi and his followers out of power, free the Congolese people, bring stability to the country and the state, reconcile the population, and refound and develop the DRC. The text says Tshisekedi has been dismissed from Goma, and that political instability is gripping the country. The message to his supporters is blunt: start packing. The situation is described as heating up fast. UDPS members from Kasai are told to discipline themselves, with the text referring to minor insults regarding the Kasai region. It also claims power is returning with force to those who once lent it out. The text calls this period the time of war for peace.
