St. Louis County QuikTrip officer attack charges
Shanie Lewis, 20, and Niyonne Griffin are each facing assault and resisting arrest charges, with bail running $100,000 in cash apiece, after what went down at a QuikTrip in St. Louis County. Here's the sequence the charges lay out. The officer was pulling a side gig as a security guard when Griffin started throwing objects at him. Lewis then brought him down and landed multiple punches. While he was on the ground, Griffin's feet came down on his head. Lewis went for his service weapon at one point, trying to get it out of the holster. Didn't work. And when it came time to cuff Griffin, she grabbed him by the hair, kicked, tried to bolt, and wouldn't let the handcuffs go on. He ended up in the hospital. Still trying to process this one. 🫢
