Daisy Edgar-Jones Sense and Sensibility bond

by Murphy Popcorn đŸŽȘ: Daisy Edgar-Jones

The cast of Sense and Sensibility didn't just meet on set; they spent weeks bonding through activities Georgia Oakley designed to build a real environment. Daisy Edgar-Jones says drawing Norland, the Dashwood family home, gave everyone an intimate relationship with the building before they had to leave it. They also played Regency games like the shuttlecock match featuring Marion and Miss Dash in the film. Esme and Daisy made rings together in a workshop while Margaret Bodie took horse riding lessons with George MacKay, who plays Edward, since there is a lovely little friendship between them. Edgar-Jones notes that this was a real part of Georgia Oakley's process to create where they could get to know one another. She believes it really translates onto screen because they are brilliant friends whose love for one another shows in the film.

Yes, actually, Georgia was really into our filmmaker was really intentional with wanting us to really create that kind of bond off screen before we started filming. So she set up all these wonderful activities for us. So one of the one of the little tasks she gave us was to sit and draw Norland, which is the Dashwood family home. And that was so special because not only did it kind of give you an intimate relationship with the building, which you would have having having lived there your whole life, which kind of created this real sense of loss when we then had to leave. But also, you know, you just sit and draw together and actually so many conversations were sparked and we just got to know one another. And she had us playing the Regency games that you see Marion and Miss Dash would play in the film, the shuttlecock game. And Esme and I did a ring making workshop and we both made a little ring. And I think Margaret, Bodie, who played Margaret, she did horse riding lessons and she did some with George as well, who plays Edward, because they have a lovely little friendship going. So yeah, I mean, that was a real part of George's process was to kind of create these this environment where we could get to know one another. And I think it really translates onto screen because we're really brilliant friends. And and I think that love that we have for one another really, you know, shows in the film.
