Trump White House ballroom glass MK-47

    by Jolyon: Donald Trump

The Secret Service gave Trump a very specific sound to listen for if something big ever hits the ballroom windows: "you would hear a pinging sound." He had put the MK-47 question to them himself, wondering what a heavy automatic grenade launcher would do to the place. The glass, per Trump, can take serious firepower, and he made a point of how thick it is, "the glass is this thick," while noting you can still see straight through it at six inches. If that ping ever came, agents told him they would pull him out, and he confirmed he would not keep going with the speech. He also said the room may only be his for six or seven months, since it was built with future presidents in mind. #DonaldTrump

The construction of the ballroom, because now the floor is in, they're putting up some of the biggest beams ever. You're not going to believe it. This is all drone-proof, missile-proof, bullet-proof. The glass is this thick, and you can see through it. It's amazing. You can see through it, just like I'm looking at you, and yet it's six inches thick. It's unbelievable. And this is meaning if a president, you know, I'm only going to get to use it for like six or seven months. He said, he's building it for himself. I'm really building it for future presidents. But I said to the Secret Service, what would happen if, let's say, an MK47 or, you know, big, big, heavy stuff? Sir, up, meaning much higher, meaning you could. I said, what would it be like? He said, you'd hear a pinging sound on the windows. Ping, ping. I said, and what would you do? Well, honestly, we would get you out of there, sir. But I said, would you let me finish the speech? Have you heard that sound? No, would rather not.
