Tanzania plane zebra collision

    by Jolyon: Tanzania

Pilots flying a tourist aircraft out of Serengeti National Park in Tanzania hit a zebra during takeoff, which damaged the gears before they even left the ground. The crew realized the extent of the damage only after lifting off, discovering that the wheels were compromised while mid-air. Since the flight was originally bound for Zanzibar, they had to change course and divert immediately to Kilimanjaro International Airport instead. When they finally attempted to land, the descent was not smooth at all, forcing an emergency belly landing where the plane skidded across the runway without its wheels deployed. It is a serious incident reported by Daily Mail and The Sun, written by Mari.
