Kalev Mutond dies in Paris at 69
The claim going around is that KALEV MUTOND was poisoned by FELIX TSHISEKEDI, and that the poisoning is what killed him. He died Monday, October 5 in Paris, France, at 69 years old. He had run the ANR, Congo's intelligence agency, as General Administrator under JOSEPH KABILA KABANGE, and he's described as the person who mapped out every conspiracy against AFC-M23. The narrative says Tshisekedi brought him in to plot the physical elimination of Joseph Kabila Kabange, and that after a secret plan fell apart, Tshisekedi ordered him killed as a sanction. It also says he'd been in the French capital close to a year getting treated for poisoning that came from Tshisekedi's circle. The other thread: he ran the ANR from 2011 to 2019 under Kabila, then betrayed him. Kalev Mutund had left the Democratic Republic of Congo in March 2021 to dodge judicial proceedings, and returned. He's accused of arbitrary arrest and torture, and he's under European and American sanctions for planning, directing or committing serious human rights violations.
