James Corbett on WorldCoin mall booths
by Kelsey7f: Sam Altman
James Corbett saw the setup in person. Booths sitting in malls, offering free crypto in exchange for a retinal scan, part of Sam Altman's WorldCoin. The ask is simple: look into the orb so the system can confirm you're actually human. Corbett didn't do it. He just watched. The pitch connects to digital currencies, and to a larger push where every person online would need to be individually identified, because rogue AI agents keep signing up and acting without anyone behind them. He walked past. The orb stayed unscanned.

I also see there potentially being a connection to the digital currencies as well in terms of a need to go over there for some sort of security reasons. Well, digital ID in particular, because, yeah, one of the rogue AI agent sort of threads is, well, you know, we can't have these rogue AI agents running around the Internet doing things and signing up and doing all this. We're going to have to individually identify every single human being on the Internet to know who you are and that you're a real person. That will be an obvious thing they will try to push. Did you see, I think it's Sam Altman's, I think it's called WorldCoin. I can't remember exactly, but they have these things that scan your retina and they're doing them in malls. It was crazy. Like they had booths at the mall where like people would walk by with a bulletin board and be like, hey, I'll give you some free crypto if you scan your eye. I've seen one in real life. I did not stare into the orb, but yeah, I've seen it. We talk about how the internet is messing with all of us all the time. So if you're into that kind of thing, definitely hit follow.
