James Corbett rogue AI psyop analysis

    by Gigliola: OpenAI

James Corbett gets suspicious whenever multiple parties voice identical claims simultaneously. Right now the shared narrative centers on rogue AI fears. He argues this panic could trigger regulations stopping non-major companies from operating their own models. The goal seems to be an oligopoly where only OpenAI, Meta, and X retain control over AI instances while open source deployment becomes impossible.

The other thing that's the mainstream story where there seems like a lot of psyoping going around is that of AI. Do you think that's going to play a role in the next move that is made? Undoubtedly, it will. I mean, the only question is what move in particular. And there are, again, all I have is speculation. I don't have any hard facts on this. But the idea of the rogue AI obviously is, as I say, when you want to know about a psyop, It's what's everybody saying all at the same time, all at once, as if they're all reading from the same hymn book. It is the rogue AI. Oh, my God, what are we going to do about this? We've got to find a way to regulate AI now, et cetera, et cetera. So clearly there is some version of psychological operation that is being prepared, is perhaps already underway. And there are many different ways that that could play out. For example, the, as has been pointed out, the big, essentially big tech oligopoly looking to protect their oligopoly by getting the regulations in place that will make it impossible for, you know, open source models. Such good guys. Yeah. For people to run their own AI instances. Nope, that will not be possible anymore because we got to control it. Only open AI and meta and X will be able to run their AI and you won't be able to, right? We talk about how the internet is messing with all of us all the time. So if you're into that kind of thing, definitely hit follow.
