Chicharito on Portugal and Ronaldo
by Filiberto: Javier Hernández
Chicharito claims Portugal had the best media coverage at the World Cup yet they failed to create chances for Cristiano Ronaldo. He argues that if ten opportunities were made and missed, fans would still say I love you despite the misses, but only two chances existed and he scored both. The speaker adds that Portugal possesses the best midfielders globally with Pitinha and João Neves as two-time Champions League winners while Bernardo Silva sits on the bench and Bruno Fernandes just set a Premier League assists record. It is noted that previously defenders claimed Chris would be loved until death even after missing ten chances, yet here reality shows he only had two chances available. That distinction matters because it proves Chicharito actually understands football.

And Portugal, it's like you have the best midfielders in the world. I truly still believe it. You have Pitinha, you have João Neves, two times Champions League winners. You have Bernardo Silva in the bench, but then you have Bruno Fernandes. He just beat the record in the Premier League of assists. And they couldn't make Ronaldo miss 10 chances. That's another perspective. We were here saying, Chris, I love you till death. But you missed 10 chances, man. What are we going to say? I'm here, I'm going to defend you. Ever, but you missed 10 chances. No? He had two chances. It's cool.
