Red Dead Redemption 2 Saint Denis stranger encounter

by Fight Desk: Red Dead Redemption

Some random encounters in Red Dead Redemption 2 aren't one-and-done. They resurface, and the game tracks what you did. Outside Saint Denis a wounded stranger turns up, and helping means sending him off for medical care. The infection is bad enough that the doctor has to take the arm. Days later that same man is standing there about to be hanged, and whether you step in is entirely your call. Mine went the other way, I didn't intervene. What got me is the small detail during the hanging: the missing limb is still gone. The game remembers. Greet the law afterward and Arthur brings up that he'd helped the guy once before. If that kind of persistence carries into GTA 6, with NPCs you recognize on sight and fates that actually land somewhere, that's the part I'm waiting on.
