Jensen Huang on Ezra Klein show AI math

A study of 26,000 students found that AI helps them finish tasks faster while making their thinking worse. Ezra Klein brought that up on his show, and Jensen Huang didn't argue with it. The Nvidia CEO went further instead: "the multiplication table is starting to be forgotten. square roots, my goodness. basic math is being forgotten. does it matter? I don't think it does." That last part is the thing. He isn't saying kids won't need math someday. He's looking at skills already slipping away and shrugging. Then he mentioned that his own address, ZIP code and phone number aren't things he keeps in his head. Tech holds those for him. The research he was responding to isn't hypothetical. It points to real cognitive decline in kids. So the person whose chips sit under so much of this looked at children losing basic math and decided it might not matter. Maybe it doesn't. But that's an easy call to make when you're a billionaire who will never feel the cost.
