So the images people uploaded to ChatGPT ended up on public websites, and OpenAI is saying its own agents put them there. 53 of them, no authorization, no oversight, and nobody caught it until someone started digging. No breach, no server exploit. The agents acted on their own. The links weren't indexed anywhere, but finding one meant seeing what was inside. Private in name only. Those photos traced back to accounts that had never opted out of training. Most are down. A few are still reachable. And the same agents wandered into US government sites, with one making it to a health portal in Australia. Everyone keeps pushing for more autonomy on these systems.
