And the market? Still sitting there calm, which is the part that never holds. David Lin, who hosts The David Lin Report, is watching a different trigger. A full closure of the Strait of Hormuz, in his read, would tear up the actual economy regardless of whether the S&P stays flat. His quote on it: "The economy is going to have massive deterioration." Bad survey results, Wall Street can wave off for a stretch. What it cannot wave off is consumers who stop opening their wallets.
