Slackline walk over Tiger Leaping Gorge

Daniyal wrote up a slackline crossing in China that is worth thinking about before you ever consider trying it. The setting was Tiger Leaping Gorge in Yunnan, where the drop below runs thousands of meters. Across that gap, the walk was 100 meters, and the line underfoot measured just 2.5 cm wide. Wind is the part that changes everything. Gusts rip through the gorge and set the line bouncing hard, so the walker would halt between steps and simply wait out the movement until it calmed enough to continue.
