Norway FM apartheid comparison
Norway's foreign minister has made the comparison plain: what Israel does in governing Palestinians amounts to apartheid. That view isn't abstract for him. His own entry into politics came through the anti-apartheid movement, and he points out that Norway was quite an active partner in developing global policy against apartheid. From New York he's pressing the case that occupation and settlements need to stop, and that Israel's violations of international law deserve the same kind of response Russia has drawn. Norway has already recognized Palestine. In return, Israel has told him he isn't welcome and won't sit down with him. #Norway

the anti-apartheid movement and when in Norway, which was, you know, among with all the Nordics, a quite active partner in developing global policy against apartheid. And at that time, it was important for us that we were totally against apartheid. We were not 50% against apartheid. We did not want, you know, some milder form of apartheid. We wanted no apartheid. And sometimes we have to be very clear. And I hear people in north, south, east and west sometimes saying there are two sides to the story. Well, there are actually times where there are only one side to the story. One is right and one is wrong. And I think in all the cases I mentioned, these are good examples of that.
