You know, in 2026, maybe the console war between PlayStation and Xbox is actually just a war over who has the worst news week. It's time for gaming's biggest wins and losses. Starting out, the undeniable L. Xbox announced a major restructuring to the way a lot of their studios operate, including the recently formed Halo Studios, formerly known as 343 Industries. The next mainline Halo game, the title that would follow up Halo Infinite, has been cancelled. 268 people were fired from halo studios and the next halo game is being developed under activision now beyond halo studios is an update out of undead labs who have been trying to find a new home outside of xbox they've been hit with layoffs and ninja theory xbox was looking for a buyer for them it seems like their days are over on the bright side of things this week's w is kind of playstation i guess because after a summer of players making their voices heard a lot of frustration being directed at Sony, Destiny is going to live to see another day. The Sony-owned studio, Bungie, revealed earlier this week that Destiny is core to the future of this team, despite laying off most of the Destiny team earlier this summer. The next step for Destiny 2 specifically involves unvaulting all of the previously vaulted content, including Destiny 2's launch campaign, The Red War. For the Marathon fans, I see you out there, I'm one of you. the game is also going to see a pretty extensive overhaul. After uploading the first part of a video detailing the future of Marathon, it's very clear Bungie is not giving up on this game, and they're looking to implement many more modes to the game and have Marathon live beyond the restrictions of being an extraction shooter.
