Keith @inneroperator diesel prices chart

    by Gigliola: Keith Patrick Gill

The viewer pushed back hard on the record-high diesel video, pointing out that oil futures dropped 15% and claiming the peak was already reached. Keith reviewed the chart to respond, convinced the person is referencing incorrect data entirely. inneroperator handled the disagreement over market data interpretation by breaking down the situation he made a video about.

So I made a video on the whole situation, trying to break it down. Turning with Joy said, I watch a lot of your videos, but this one is disappointing. Don't you watch oil future charts? Prices dropped 15% in the last week. The way I read it, even though there are many stresses in the oil market, the top is in and prices are coming down. The turn down happened right when the rates went up. That said, I did learn a lot by watching this video, but what am I missing? So I responded, and I'll just kind of walk through it really quickly. So what happened last week was like there was some announcement of a potential deal. right as oil prices hit $100 again. This is crude oil. Okay, and then so the market came back a little bit from that. But I want to be super clear here. This is the oil futures chart, right? And after months of mitigating the impact of the straight-up form moves being closed, where oil was at over $100, oil came back up to that level, ladies and gentlemen. So you're talking about exhausting a lot of resources to prevent oil from being at high prices, and it's back up there now. Okay, so okay, okay, cool. So then you get another announcement of an announcement of a potential deal and the prices come down and you think that that's going to affect the way that we're talking about what's actually going on in the economy? No. So then let's be clear here that the whole point of the video that I made is that we're not talking about, we're not talking about oil futures. We're talking about diesel prices that are at literal all-time highs. That is downstream of what is happening in whatever little blah, blah, blah, futures market. This is the actual price of diesel.
