Chainlink and Fort Knox ledger debate
Nev (nevscape) answered the Chainlink point from Keith (inneroperator) with one question: does the US government even know how much gold sits in Fort Knox? He doesn't think so. Which makes the next part land harder for him, the idea that every bank, every institution and every government ledger backing the dollar has matched perfectly the whole way through, no errors, one clean book. That's the part he can't get behind. If the gold itself is a mystery, the ledger behind the dollar gets a lot harder to take on faith

But what Chainlink enables is for us to have a way to verify that those assets actually sit there in an account. It allows you to have the ability to, on-chain, in real time, attest to the ownership or the location of money, right? Or anything, technically. How? Is kind of what I think it means. Well, my question back to that would be is like, doesn't the American government not even know how much gold is in Fort Knox? So we could start there. yeah i think i think that's like i think my i think that's my like the money doesn't exist like like in terms of like verifying the stable coins like linked to an american dollar i guess you're saying like yes this company like this company has this much because we go back to the ledger of history of time of printing money supply and it hasn't ever had a error ever somehow ever through all of the different books and ledgers that exist the money is all accounted for exactly at every bank and every institution from the government in this one ledger technically speaking that would be true and it would be a piece of paper i guess a book in a room honestly this sounds crazy in 2026 if you enjoyed this be sure to hit that like button and follow to stay up to date with what's going on in the world and everything else memes and markets peace
