    by Anjali Filmi: Manny Jacinto

Manny Jacinto is reflecting on the massive support FORGOTTEN ISLAND has received, noting it's huge that so many Filipinos are coming out. The film holds a high rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and people in the animation industry hold the movie in high regard too. It isn't just about the creators anymore; peers around the industry are loving the project. But there is an innate pressure to exceed excellence because we don't get a lot of chances like this. From your perspective, what's it like seeing the support for this cultural moment? It's massive, like, yeah, I mean, you would hope that people, other than the people that made it, could see it. And the fact that it's rated highly on Rotten Tomatoes, the fact that a lot of Filipinos are, like, drawing out, coming out to support. Not even just Filipinos, but people around our industry are loving the movie. People in animation have a lot of respect for it. It's huge. Because I've said this over and over again, we don't get a lot of chances like this. It has this pressure to do well.
