Meta Connect 2026 AI eyewear reveal
Meta just flipped the script at Connect 2026, moving away from just selling smart glasses to pushing an always-on AI wearable instead. The lineup dropped hard: Ray-Ban Meta Gen 3 ships with a 12MP camera, 3K video, 9-hour battery life, and starts at $449. Then there's Ray-Ban Meta Audio, a camera-free pair weighing only 43 grams for $349. The big software shift is Muse, which replaces the 'Hey Meta' command to handle shopping, navigation, and visual answers on the fly. If you don't want glasses, Muse Charm offers that same AI functionality as a pendant accessory. Updated Display glasses now do real-time phone call captions and support hands-free Threads usage too. Meta plans to have over 100 frames featuring this AI by the end of the year. The whole strategic goal is creating an AI device that encourages users to look up rather than down at phones.
