And I think like what Jay-Z did with like being from New York and kind of just like a heavy stepper type of, you know, image, you know, was about flashing your wealth. And I think he not alone, but, you know, was someone who I think had a huge impact on the culture and, you know, bringing the chains out and the flash and the gold and things like that, because that wasn't originally there in hip hop. that came later. And it kind of came, I think, in response to those, to those different variables, you know, like trying to keep black people from obtaining wealth. So then, you know, when you do have some shit, you want to show it, you know, cause it's like, kind of like a form of resistance in a way. But I think the impact, you know, the problem that it created was that, uh, you kind of opened up this like ghetto fabulous, um, persona, which people, you know, would spend their money on stupid shit, you know, which actually ended up keeping folks, you know, down, you know, in terms of like their bank accounts instead of like really investing and making smart choices and things like that. Like they weren't rapping about, you know, opening up a Vanguard, you know, saying they're rapping about a Cartier. And so, you know, whenever we talk about these things, I think it's important to acknowledge the complexities in them and how one thing could be a form of resistance, but then it also could perpetuate the system that's holding you down.
