The thing that keeps both doors propped open is the sit-down itself. Witkoff and Kushner logged hours on the UN sidelines, Steve and Jared came out of their sit-down with Iranian mediators calling it very productive, and the read from basically everyone is that there's a lot of momentum toward a deal. Merely mediators, per the line. They've been mediated for a while. Same president, same hall, still telling the room he could annihilate the place. So which version ends up on the ballot. An agreement parks the conflict as a campaign chip. Walking away leaves the threat sitting over the vote. The clock here is a map.
