Bob Moriarty on diesel and 1789
by Gigliola: Bob Moriarty
Bob Moriarty, ex-Marine fighter pilot and the guy behind 321gold, is comparing diesel prices to the wheat that set off Paris in 1789. His read: fuel costs are already what pushes Americans over the limit, and if a gallon hits ten or twelve bucks, something specific follows. He says it plainly: the price of wheat caused the revolution in Paris in 1789, and right now it's diesel doing the same work here. #BobMoriarty

I tell you, because I'm in France, I know this, the price of one commodity caused the revolution in Paris in 1789. The French government got involved in the American Revolutionary War because they were flipping the bird at the English. They were traditionally their enemy. and it bankrupted the king. And as a result, by 1789, the wives in Paris couldn't afford wheat. There is something in every empire, in every society that pushed people over the limits. And I'm going to tell you right now, The cost of diesel fuel is what's going to put Americans over the limit. And if it goes to $10, $12 a gallon, you're going to have a revolution.
