Trump UN Cuba failed state remarks
Trump stood at the UN podium and called Cuba's communist government an "failed state," predicting "it will fall" while saying the island faces unprecedented pressure. The Cuban delegation exited the chamber during those remarks, per Reuters. He also promised "freedom will be coming to Cuba." Marco Rubio, meanwhile, is deep into negotiations with Cuba. Trump brought up the regime's decades of coordination with left-wing radicals and communist networks in the US, naming the Communist Party USA, Antifa, and the Democrat Socialists of America as groups the State Department says they cultivated ties with. Then he pivoted: safety and security coming to Mexico, and a very good relationship with the Mexican government. Hard to miss the timing on that walkout.
