Logan Paul on sexual orientation and PRIME

    by Tufail: Logan Paul

The conversation in the studio with PRIME Hydration bottles on the table took a turn when Logan Paul addressed the debate around his own sexuality. He jokes about being debatable before asserting he has a wife, then clarifies that as far as he knows, he is a straight man. He admits he doesn't know why he is that way other than thinking he was born to be attracted to women. This personal experience leads him to hold that many gay individuals are born with same-sex attraction in the exact same way. The sheer prevalence of these people contradicts the idea that it is an anomaly or a lifestyle choice. Living openly can involve public challenges and judgment from society and religious groups, making optically visible life harder for some. That specific notion that sexual orientation is a voluntary choice remains difficult for him to comprehend given those social costs.

I'm a straight man. I... Debatable. Dude, you don't have to convince me. You don't have to convince me. You have to believe me. Okay. You guys, I have a wife. Please believe me, guys. I'm a straight man, as far as I know. And I don't know why I am that way, other than I think I was born to be attracted to women. There are plenty of gay people on the planet who I believe were born in the same way, but we're attracted to those of the same sex. There's just too many people who are attracted to the same sex to be like, oh, this is either A, an anomaly or B, like they're choosing this lifestyle, especially because it could be argued that that lifestyle, at least optically and publicly, comes with some things that make living a little harder, especially when it comes to judgment from other people, judgment from religions. And so that one's always been a little tough for me to understand. Maybe you could help me.
