Gov. Gavin Newsom is practically done signing the GTFO ACT, a bill that bans government agencies throughout California from hiring ICE agents. Critics call this straight-up blackball discrimination and insist it is illegal. The legislation applies to anyone involved in immigration enforcement under President Trump and marks the first of its kind nationwide. It even extends to local governments. I wouldn't be surprised if additional blue states follow suit with similar measures. Maryland, Oregon, New York and Illinois might act against ICE and Border agents next. We need to stand with ICE and CBP because they protect American citizens.

California will not bend when it comes to defending our communities, our civil rights, and the values that defined our golden state. It ensures that individuals who participated in harmful federal immigration enforcement are not placed onto positions in public trust in California. Critics call that hypocritical.
