Robert Heitmann farmer diesel protest
by Not A Newt: Politics
Robert Heitmann isn't waiting around for a fix. The German farmer has already stopped doing business, and he says the machines will come to a standstill starting Monday, because nobody can afford this anymore. Passing the costs on to the customer? Barely possible, according to him. His answer to that is not another round of talking. He wants everyone to join forces and just stop everything, and he says farmers need the courage to actually do it. German industry is dying, and it's not a slow process anymore. Two things the government could do: drop the 47% tax on fuel, or swallow its pride and buy diesel from the supplier it used to rely on.
