AOC and Mamdani at 9/11 memorial

So AOC and Mamdani spent the 9/11 memorial in NYC giggling while names were read aloud, and somewhere in that crowd Amarnauth Lachhman of Valley Stream, NY, 41 years old, had his head down and his glasses in his hand, sobbing. That's the picture. Laughing through a remembrance ceremony isn't a scheduling mishap, it's a middle finger to the dead, to the families, to the first responders, to the soldiers, and to the rest of America watching. Ask yourself the counterfactual: Trump and Elon Musk cracking jokes at that same podium would have been the lead story on every network for a week. Instead, silence, because the story doesn't fit the narrative. And spare me the defense that they weren't near the sobbing man. They were at the memorial. Proximity isn't the point.
