Repeating the same patterns is a specific phenomenon

    Transcript (en)

Ecologists call this an identity loop. The pattern you keep repeating is not a failure of willpower. It is a failure of identity update. Every behavior you run consistently enough becomes evidence to the brain of who you are. And the brain protects identity the same way it protects survival. It filters out information that contradicts it. It recreates conditions that confirm it. So when you try to change the behavior without changing the identity running it, the system rejects the update. Not because you are broken, because the brain is doing exactly what it was designed to do. The loop does not break through effort, it breaks through identity reconstruction.
