This might be the most terrifying runway in the Caribbean. This is Gustav III Airport in St. Bart's. The runway is barely 2,100 feet long, with a steep hill at one end and the ocean just beyond it. Pilots need special training to land here because there's almost no room for mistakes. But then there's Princess Juliana Airport in St. Martin, where the danger looks completely different. The runway sits directly behind a beach, so planes come in incredibly low over people standing on the sand. Some visitors even stand by the fence just to feel the blast from the engines.
