Adam Strange makes one mistake that wipes out an entire world. After returning home to the planet Ran to reunite with his wife, Adam Strange's father notices that his boots are covered in strange alien spores. Luckily, Ran had powerful systems that could stop this kind of infection before it spread. His father reminds Adam that he always cleans his suit before traveling another planet's. That's when Adam realizes something horrifying. Before arriving on Ran, he had made a stop on Earth and he never cleaned his boots. Adam rushes back to Earth, hoping everything is fine, but he's already too late. The spores have spread through the air, wiping out millions of people. The streets are nearly empty. Survivors wear masks to avoid breathing the infected air, and those exposed begin growing horrifying deformities on their heads. Once the infection fully takes over, the victims climb to the highest place they can find before their skulls split open, releasing even more spores into the atmosphere. As Adam searches through the ruined world, he finds a young boy begging him to end his suffering. The child says he can feel something crawling inside his head, but Adam is too shocked to move. Overwhelmed by the realization that this global catastrophe happened because of one simple mistake, he stands frozen in guilt. Then, before he can react, the Justice League appears behind him. Looking directly at Adam, they simply say, Adam Strange, we have a few questions for you.
