Comedian Ahmed Ahmed says Marvel offered him $50,000 to play “Terr0rist Number 4” in Iron Man (2008) after years of being typecast in stereotypical Arab and Muslim roles. Ahmed revealed he had even told his agent he no longer wanted to play such characters. But his agent called with an opportunity to appear alongside Robert Downey Jr. in the first Iron Man. When Ahmed asked what role he was auditioning for, she replied: “Terr0rist Number 4.” “I just decided to read my lines over the top just to like make fun of it, like I didn't want the part.” His lines included, “Sit down! You will obey...” “They were like, ‘That's brilliant. That's exactly what we're looking for. Can you do it again, but this time give me more of that Muslim [growls]?’” Ironically, he says his exaggerated audition landed him the role. “We shot that movie in 2007, it came out in 2008.
