The 1992 film CHAPLIN has its rough patches, but Robert Downey Jr.'s work in it is something else. He nails Charlie Chaplin's physical quirks so precisely it feels almost eerie, and what really stands out is how he gets at the man behind the persona. That performance deserved an Oscar, no question.
