Najee Lopez vs Juan Carrillo August 29

    by Yamanaka: Boxing

Najee Lopez is moving up to 175 pounds for a massive step against unbeaten Colombian Olympian Juan Carrillo. Both men have perfect records on the line in a fight where a win could launch Lopez toward a world-title shot. He enters with a 16-0 record and 13 KOs, sitting top five in the WBA and inside the top 15 of all four sanctioned bodies. This bout follows his Fight of the Year contender performance against Manuel Gallegos in Orlando last March, where he got off the canvas to secure a stoppage victory. The event lands August 29 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles and airs on ProBox TV Championship Series for $5.

You mentioned a fighter that I want to go a little deeper on, and Najee Lopez. He's a guy that he is ranked in the top 15 of all four sanctioned bodies. Top five, I believe, in the WBA. So he is right there, right on the cusp of getting a big fight. He's been mentioned along the names of, like, Better Biev as a possible opponent a couple months back. His last fight was a fight of the year. Incredible fight. Got off of the canvas to stop Manuel Gallegos over in Orlando back in March. I mean, that fight was out of control and fantastic. If you guys didn't see that fight, go on the Pro Box TV YouTube channel and check that out. But how are you liking what you see from Najee Lopez, coach, in terms of how he's developed over the last couple of years?
