Brad Pitt Snatch underwater scene
by Professional Portal ☀️: Brad Pitt
Guy Ritchie directed Brad Pitt during the underwater sequence in Snatch (2000) by submerging him into a massive water tank to physically film his slow-motion descent instead of using green screens or CGI. Pitt performed the physical choreography himself inside the tank, and his willingness to take on demanding physical setups allowed the camera to stay close to his face without needing to digitally paste his likeness onto a stunt double. Brad Pitt took on the role of Mickey O'Neil after becoming a fan of Ritchie's work following Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) and wanting to collaborate with the director. Despite already being one of Hollywood's biggest stars, Pitt was eager to join Ritchie's next film and play the unpredictable Irish Traveller boxer. Pitt's distinctive accent, chaotic personality and comedic timing quickly made Mickey one of the most memorable characters in Snatch. The role became one of the most unusual and recognizable performances of Pitt's career.
