Ron Johnson releases Fauci texts

Sen. Ron Johnson released new text messages involving Dr. Anthony Fauci and top vaccine officials, arguing the documents prove adverse events were being downplayed or ignored. Dr. John Mascola, then head of the Vaccine Research Center, told Fauci that initial COVID studies deliberately avoided giving the shot to women in the first trimester because of possible fever and higher rates of miscarriage. In one message, Fauci indicated that after the second dose of the vaccine, it could be associated with miscarriage in the first trimester. Former Surgeon General Vivek Murthy sent a message to Fauci in late January 2021 expressing surprise that the World Health Organization did not recommend the Moderna vaccine for pregnant women. Murthy noted that Fauci thought this was a strong statement to make and worried about how this could undermine confidence in the Moderna vaccine. Johnson is calling for every official involved to appear before Congress.
