The missing piece in AGI debates is original discovery. DeepMind's CEO has a simple test: give an AI only what humanity knew before 1901, then see if it can come up with Einstein's theory of relativity on its own. No internet, no stored answer, no human blueprint to copy. So far none can, which means we aren't there yet
