Why are farmers carrying thousands of chickens across the countryside in giant cages mounted on trucks? It may look like they are constantly relocating the flock, but it's actually part of a clever mobile farming system. Instead of keeping the chickens in one place, farmers move them from field to field where they can forage for wild seeds, fresh grass, and protein-rich insects. Their droppings also return valuable nutrients to the soil, helping fertilize the land naturally. But here is the surprising part. Wouldn't hundreds of free-ranging chickens simply wander away? The answer is training. From a young age, the birds learn that the mobile coop is their home. As evening approaches, they instinctively return and line up to enter the truck before nightfall. Farmers also keep a close watch over the flock to help protect them from predators. And that's where the system really pays off. With fresh air, sunlight, and plenty of space to roam, the chickens live a more natural lifestyle.
