Boston Dynamics has Spot out here running doorstep delivery trials. The play is the legs: drones can't get to a porch, and wheeled bots choke on uneven ground. Spot just walks over whatever's in the way. It can haul two medium boxes at once, and the endgame is fully autonomous runs after a human driver handles the first leg.

Boston Dynamics is testing its quadruped robot Spot for doorstep delivery. Conventional drones can't reach a porch, while wheeled robots may struggle with varying terrains. Spot's legs give it all terrain capabilities, making it a potential solution to the 50-foot last-mile delivery limitation. Spot can carry two medium-sized packages at a time with less strain and greater efficiency. Future deliveries could be made autonomously using Spot after the initial delivery is completed by a driver controller.
