Crescent shadows during solar eclipse

Solar eclipses turn tree canopies into natural camera arrays. The gaps between leaves each function as a pinhole, so the ground gets covered in tiny crescent-shaped projections of the sun. It's a wild little optical effect that only shows up when the moon is passing in front.
